CASE STUDY 2

When George and Rose were referred to us they had both moved from London to a care home in the South West paying combined annual fees in excess of £50,000 per year.

After meeting George and Rose and their sons we worked out a plan of action and firstly applied for benefits such as attendance allowance and also made provision for meeting the high level of fees that would be required in the years to come with the resources that they had.

In addition to this, with considerable assets, no provision had been made to mitigate inheritance tax or set up a will. Both these aspects were dealt with and through the use of trusts and careful financial planning George and Rose’s sons do not have to worry about paying inheritance tax in the future.

A firm of local solicitors visited George and Rose at the care home to put their will and legal affairs in order. George and Rose are happy in the care facility they have chosen and they are in a position where they know that their money is well managed and their sons will inherit according to their wishes.
